About Best Pitch Battles

Best Pitch Battles is an independent editorial index of hotels, organised into four categories and nothing more: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. Each entry is a short written description of a property — where it is, what the building is, what a stay there is actually like — arranged like tracks on a record so that a category can be read straight through or dipped into at any point.

The four categories were chosen because each one answers a different question about what a hotel can be. An art hotel treats the building as a place to show something. A capsule hotel asks how little room a night really needs. A casino hotel is a large property where gaming sits alongside restaurants, theatres and event halls. An ice hotel exists for a few months and then does not exist at all. Putting them on the same shelf makes the range visible.

The index is geo-neutral. Properties appear because they are interesting examples of their category, not because they sit in any particular country, and there is no attempt to cover any one region completely.

What this site is not

There is no booking engine here, no reservation system, no availability data and no pricing. We take no commission and hold no commercial relationship with the hotels described. There are no star ratings and no user reviews, invented or collected — every description is written editorially and kept to characteristics that are stable and verifiable rather than to claims about service on any given night.

Details change. Hotels are renovated, rebranded, closed and reopened; a seasonal property may not run in a given year. Anything you plan around should be confirmed directly with the hotel.
